Peel Pentecostal Tabernacle
Peel Pentecostal Tabernacle is a congregation of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Its statement of beliefs holds that the Bible is God's Word and 'truth without error', that God exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that salvation is a gift received by faith in the death and resurrection of Christ. It teaches that believers should follow Jesus' example and be baptized both in water and in the Holy Spirit, the Spirit baptism given at Pentecost to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the earth.
Peel Pentecostal Tabernacle is on Countryside Drive and belongs to the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Its lead pastor is Barry Risto. The church describes itself as a diverse group of believers committed to ministering to the needs of the whole family, and it organizes its life around five purposes: connect, grow, serve, go and worship.
Two services are held each Sunday. The main service, in English, is at 10:30 in the morning, and the church streams its services live on YouTube. At 4:00 in the afternoon the church’s South Asian Fellowship, led by Pastor Shamoon Munir, holds its own service in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, and the fellowship also meets for revival meetings on the second Friday of each month.
What to expect
Newcomers are invited to the Guest Services room after the morning service, where the team explains who the church is and how to get involved. PPT Kids classes for children aged 3 to 10 are held on Sunday mornings following worship, there is a toddler room for walking children up to age 3, and a family room with a live-stream of the service lets parents stay with children aged 3 and under.
