Brampton Gospel Hall

Brampton Gospel Hall's members describe themselves as Christians who gather in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Their one common bond, they say, is a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and they hold that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, absolutely true from Genesis to Revelation, that everyone must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God, and that the saved are eternally secure. The assembly says it is there to preach the good news of salvation and to provide fellowship for all true Christians.

Brampton Gospel Hall is on Beech Street, in the Kennedy Road and Queen Street area. Truth & Tidings, a magazine whose Tidings pages carry news from the assemblies, reported in February 2001 that a new assembly had been planted in Brampton the previous September, and in April 2004 that gospel meetings had begun in the “recently purchased Brampton Gospel Hall”. In November 2017 it reported that renovations to the hall on Beech Street were complete.

Sunday begins with the Lord’s Supper at a quarter to ten, an hour and a quarter of hymns, prayer and the breaking of bread, followed by Sunday school. A gospel meeting is held in the evening at seven because, in the assembly’s words, everyone needs an opportunity to hear the Gospel; no collection is taken. Prayer and Bible study meet on Thursday evening, and a Bible club for children on Friday.

What to expect

At the Lord's Supper the men in the church fellowship pray aloud as they are led and the women worship silently; towards the end those in fellowship take the bread and wine, and the Scriptures are often read and a short message given. The Sunday-evening gospel meeting opens with two or three hymns before the preaching, all are welcome, and no collection is taken. Parents are welcome to sit with their children in Sunday school.
