## What they believe
Christ Church is a parish of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto, holding the Old and New Testaments to contain 'all things necessary for salvation'. It confesses the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds, celebrates the two sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Eucharist, and keeps the historic episcopate. All baptized Christians, whatever their denomination, are welcome to receive communion.

## What to expect
The Sunday service is a Eucharist from the Book of Alternative Services, projected on a screen, with both contemporary and traditional music; it lasts about an hour to seventy minutes. Children aged 4 to 12 may go out to Sunday School during the service and come back for communion, which is offered in both bread and wine, with gluten-free bread on request; those not receiving may come forward for a blessing. Coffee and fellowship follow downstairs.

## About this congregation
Christ Church stands on the north-east corner of Queen Street West and Elizabeth Street North in downtown Brampton, a red-brick church with buff-brick buttresses and a bell tower and steeple at its west end. It was built for the Methodist Episcopal Church: the city's walking-tour guide records that the cornerstone was laid in 1875 and the church dedicated in 1876, and that when the Methodist Episcopal Church was dissolved in the Methodist union of 1884, the Church of England bought the building and added the chancel at the east end. A memorial window first placed in the parish's previous church on Joseph Street in 1871 was moved to the new chancel.

The parish dates its founding to 1851, the year the Reverend William Guise Tucker was appointed, and is marking its 175th anniversary in 2026. This is its third church, after a timber-frame building on John Street and a church on Joseph Street.

One service is held each Sunday, a Eucharist at ten o'clock, with gathering music from 9:50. The parish belongs to the North Peel deanery of the Diocese of Toronto.
